Question 1

How does Starvo send review requests?

Accepted Answer

For SMS and WhatsApp, Starvo prepares the message and direct review link, then opens your phone’s messaging app for you to check and press send. Email requests can be sent directly from Starvo.

Question 2

Do you store customer phone numbers?

Accepted Answer

Full customer phone numbers used for local follow-up history stay on your device. Starvo may store limited request metadata for signed-in accounts, such as date, channel, platform and the last four digits, to support usage and history.

Question 3

Can I customize the review request message?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Create custom message templates and switch between them for every request. Personalize with the customer's name and your business name.

Question 4

Which review platforms does Starvo support?

Accepted Answer

Google Reviews and Trustpilot. Add either destination — or both — to your profile, then choose the right platform for each request.

Question 5

What's the difference between Free and Pro?

Accepted Answer

Free includes 5 review requests per month plus the core SMS, WhatsApp, email, QR, saved-template, activity and follow-up workflow. Pro is £19/month and removes the monthly request limit and adds AI personalised messages.

Question 6

Can I try Starvo before paying?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Create a free account and use up to 5 review requests each month. No credit card is required. Upgrade to Pro whenever you need unlimited requests.

Question 7

Can I track which customers have reviewed?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Starvo shows the date each request was sent, lets you mark whether it has been reviewed, and flags requests that are ready for a polite follow-up after 3 days.

Question 8

Is there a mobile app?

Accepted Answer

Starvo runs in modern mobile and desktop browsers. You can also install it to your iOS or Android home screen for quicker access.

Question 9

What if I forget my Google Maps link?

Accepted Answer

In your Google Business Profile, open Read reviews, then Get more reviews, and copy the review link. You can also use Starvo’s Google review-link finder and send the checked link straight into the app.

Question 10

Can multiple team members use Starvo?

Accepted Answer

Starvo is currently focused on Free and Pro for individual businesses. Team plans are not currently sold.

Question 11

What is the Invoice Footer Generator?

Accepted Answer

It's a free tool that generates professional review request text snippets you can paste into your invoicing app — QuickBooks, Xero, Tradify, Joblogic, FreeAgent, and more. Every invoice you send becomes a passive review request. No sign-up needed. Find it at starvo.co.uk/invoice-footer-generator.

Question 12

Does Starvo have a free QR code generator?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Generate a printable QR code that links directly to your Google review page — free, no sign-up required. Print it, stick it on your van, reception desk, or hand it to customers on-site. Find it at starvo.co.uk/free-review-qr-code-generator.

Question 13

How do I find my Google Business Profile using Starvo?

Accepted Answer

Starvo has a built-in Google Business Search inside the "Edit Profile" settings. Just type your business name and it will find your Google Business Profile automatically — no need to hunt for links in Google Maps. Select your business from the list and Starvo sets up your review link instantly.

Question 14

What is the "Show QR to customer" feature?

Accepted Answer

In the QR tab, the "Full Screen — Show Customer" button opens a large, high-contrast code on your phone. A customer can scan it at the end of a job without sharing contact details.

Question 15

Is it safe to send lots of review requests at once?

Accepted Answer

You can ask genuine customers for reviews, including by sharing a review link. Keep every request neutral and based on a real customer experience: do not offer incentives, pressure customers for a particular rating, or selectively ask only customers you expect to leave positive feedback. Starvo surfaces policy reminders as your request volume grows.

Question 16

How do follow-up reminders work?

Accepted Answer

For SMS and WhatsApp requests you confirm as sent, Starvo flags them after 3 days if you have not marked them reviewed. The Activity tab then lets you prepare one polite follow-up and confirm it only after you press send on your device.

Question 17

Can I use Starvo for platforms other than Google and Trustpilot?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can add a secondary review platform (e.g. Checkatrade, Which? Trusted Traders, Houzz, Facebook) with a custom label. Set it up in your business profile during onboarding or via the settings.

Question 18

Can I send review requests by email?

Accepted Answer

Yes — Pro and Free plan users can send review requests by email directly from Starvo. Enter the customer's email address in the "Customer Email" field and select the Email channel. Starvo sends a polished email on your behalf with a direct link to your review page. No separate email client needed.

Question 19

What is the AI Personalised Message feature?

Accepted Answer

Available on Pro. Enter the customer name and your business details, then tap "Generate AI Message" to create a short, neutral review request tailored to your business. You can review or regenerate it before sending.

Question 20

Can Starvo automatically send review requests when I complete a job?

Accepted Answer

No. Starvo currently keeps SMS and WhatsApp sending deliberate: it prepares the request and you press send from your device. It does not currently auto-send when a job or invoice is completed.

Question 21

Is my data secure?

Accepted Answer

Starvo is designed to minimise customer data. SMS and WhatsApp are handed off to your device, full phone numbers used for local follow-up history stay on that device, and signed-in usage/history can store limited request metadata. See the Privacy Policy for the full details.

Question 22

Can I cancel my Pro subscription anytime?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Open Account → Manage Billing / Cancel. You keep Pro access until the end of the paid period, then return to the Free allowance of 5 requests per month.

Question 23

Does Starvo work offline?

Accepted Answer

Partially. If you install Starvo to your home screen (iOS or Android), it can still load with a poor connection. Sending email requests and generating editable request templates require an internet connection, and SMS/WhatsApp hand-off may still depend on your device and network.
